Description

Ezhi-gkendaagziyang, meaning “How We Learn” in Anishinaabemowin, is a culturally and linguistically information communication assessment process or guide. Designed for use with kindergarten-aged Anishinaabek children in Dokis First Nation and adaptable to other First Nations, Inuit, and Métis contexts, Ezhi-gkendaagziyang provides a flexible framework that emphasizes relationship-building and community collaboration to identify strengths and needs.

This process has been co-created by Zoe Higgins, non-Indigenous SLP Reg. CASLPO, PhD in partnership with the community of Dokis First Nation. This resource is distributed free of charge to support use, sharing, and thoughtful adaptation.
